I. What's Wrong with Secularism? |

Former Massachusetts Governor, Mormon Willard "Mitt" Romney said...
If you agree with that, then our church most likely, isn't for you at this time. But feel free to explore our ideas, and see if there isn't something here of value to you. Did God give us the economic boost of slavery? Did God win WWII? Go to Arlington Cemetery. Row after row of graves there are marked by crosses, by crescent moons, and by non-religious markers. Those are graves of people who died for Mitt Romney so that he could say silly things ...like the Religion of Secularism is wrong. And he's leaving them out. We are honoring them. The Rev. Barry W. Lynn, executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, said Romney should have recognized there are Americans who are nonbelievers.
We feel that Mitt's dispensationalist view is false. Kennedy called the separation of church and state absolute.

II. What's Wrong with Religion? |

Theology aside, Religion contains within it one fatal flaw, the constant, desperate sectarian insistence of each that it stands alone as the one "true" faith. This megalomaniacal fixation constitutes the greatest argument to both the absurdity, and the truthlessness of our worldly religions, even as it serves to accomplish the very opposite of the principle goal claimed by all religions, fostering fellowship and brotherhood, sisterhood and love. These religions appeal to humanity as a way to connect to God. In our view, nothing could be further from Truth. Religions are, in our view, merely secular political systems, milking the old "divide and rule" device to consolidate power for their mortal masters, who can often be seen, thanks to systems maintained by secular values such as separation of church and state, and the rule of law, to be among the worst offenders of their own "beliefs." Theocracy (rule by God, or gods) represents the ultimate perversion of Religion because it ultimately becomes as corrupted as any other form of government, and quickly abandons the primary commandments, the loving commandments, while brutally enforcing trivial ones that most theologies see as issues between Human and Diviinity. This creates a real-world scenario where people live in fear. Fear insufficiency, fear of judgement not only by Divinity, but by mortals and their corruptible systems. This is seen as clearly in the history of the Roman Catholic Church as it is seen in the Talliban, a Muslim Fundamentalist movement created by the (apparently godless) US Government to harass the Soviets. Rome embraced, for 600 years, forced conversion and torture of "heretics," meaning non-Catholics. Under Theocracy, we live in fear of accusations such as the string of theocratic-state murders committed right here, and not so long ago, by Salem, of the British Massachusetts colony, when fearful mortals accused one another of forbidden acts including "dancing with the devil." In a policy designed to promote fear and injustice, accusers were entitled to the land of confessed "witches." Theocracy is the ultimate heresy, committing evil under "infallible" and irrefutable divine authority by means of "Divide and rule." In other words it is merely another ruse of the ruling class. And what a whopper it is. Above all, September Eleven was an attack on secularism. And how has our increasingly theocratic Government responded? With a "holy war" (needs sources) and by "Christianizing" our military. Power corrupts, and abslolute power corrupts absolutely We in Massachusetts have seen the religious evils of Salem and the scandals under the disgraced Catholic Cardinal Law. Some call that a sex scandal. We say it is a scandal of violence, of child abuse and a systematic coverup conspiracy committed by the remnants of a theocracy evolving out of the Roman Empire. It is not a scandal that Catholic Priests were prosecuted for raping children, it was a scandal that this violence was perpetuated by the torture-sanctioning theocracy for two thousand years. We offer the antidote to Theocracy, a doctrine that stands side-by-side with these war-torn Religions, and head and shoulders above them ...The Religion of Secularism.
